SUMMARY:New Year’s Eve - Songs To Amuse
DESCRIPTION:Our 7:00 PM show is designed to get you in the mood for whatever plans you’ve made to follow – and there’s no question that you’ll want to saber open a magnum or two of bubbly once we’re done with you. Nilsson (who sings) and Kogut (who puts up with it from the keyboard) have been working together for three decades\, performing at places like Caffè Lena\, the Van Dyck\, Mohonk Mountain House\, the Otesaga Hotel\, and other places where the swells hang out. They also participated in the first First Nights that Albany held\, and like to think that this performance gives you all the diversity of a First Night without asking you to freeze your butt off going from place to place on those stupid buses. (We’ll also be singing about buses\, by the way.) \nStart your New Year’s Eve at Steamer 10! There will be laughter\, song\, and comestibles. Tickets are priced at a mere $20 – $15 for students and seniors. Call Steamer No. 10 at 518-438-5503 to reserve tickets\, or go to the website www.steamer10theatre.org.

SUMMARY:Forgotten
DESCRIPTION:By: Altaire Gural \nDirected by Vinny Pruchnick and Ric Chesser\nProduced with Permission of: Off the Wall Plays \nPeter Pan and Neverland \nIs it a story\, a figment of Wendy’ imagination or a real place? \nGwendolyn is a young schoolgirl in Edwardian London\, plagued by recurring dreams of an imaginary place and time\, not of this earth. Despite her best efforts to control her dreams\, they are becoming more real and frequent than ever. But when she wakes up\, she cannot remember anything at all\, other than a fear of falling. When she sleepwalks and almost falls to her death\, her school decides to send her home again. Once home she is sent to a specialist doctor for treatment to try to cure of her mysterious illness that is causing her nightmares. \nBut it seems that the imaginary place is very real indeed. Gwendolyn is “Wendy” and she dreams of a very real Neverland. Peter Pan has left Neverland to try and find her\, risking the lives of all the people who live there\, including the infamous Captain Hook. For Neverland cannot survive without Peter Pan. Hook\, desperate to save Neverland\, and of course himself\, has followed Peter back to our world to find Wendy and to make her forget once and for all. \n“Forgotten” is an exploration of J.M. Barrie’s classic children’s story\, “Peter Pan” and poses the question of whether it was simply a story\, a figment of Wendy’s imagination or a real place. In the 21st century we are accustomed to the concepts of time travel and alternate universes. This fantasy play cleverly switches between the alternate Earths in the story. \nSteamer No.10 Theatre’s CAST program – Creative Arts at Steamer Ten – is producing this exploration of what might happen in Neverland after Wendy leaves.
