SUMMARY:Forgotten
DESCRIPTION:By: Altaire Gural \nDirected by Vinny Pruchnick and Ric Chesser\nProduced with Permission of: Off the Wall Plays \nPeter Pan and Neverland \nIs it a story\, a figment of Wendy’ imagination or a real place? \nGwendolyn is a young schoolgirl in Edwardian London\, plagued by recurring dreams of an imaginary place and time\, not of this earth. Despite her best efforts to control her dreams\, they are becoming more real and frequent than ever. But when she wakes up\, she cannot remember anything at all\, other than a fear of falling. When she sleepwalks and almost falls to her death\, her school decides to send her home again. Once home she is sent to a specialist doctor for treatment to try to cure of her mysterious illness that is causing her nightmares. \nBut it seems that the imaginary place is very real indeed. Gwendolyn is “Wendy” and she dreams of a very real Neverland. Peter Pan has left Neverland to try and find her\, risking the lives of all the people who live there\, including the infamous Captain Hook. For Neverland cannot survive without Peter Pan. Hook\, desperate to save Neverland\, and of course himself\, has followed Peter back to our world to find Wendy and to make her forget once and for all. \n“Forgotten” is an exploration of J.M. Barrie’s classic children’s story\, “Peter Pan” and poses the question of whether it was simply a story\, a figment of Wendy’s imagination or a real place. In the 21st century we are accustomed to the concepts of time travel and alternate universes. This fantasy play cleverly switches between the alternate Earths in the story. \nSteamer No.10 Theatre’s CAST program – Creative Arts at Steamer Ten – is producing this exploration of what might happen in Neverland after Wendy leaves.

SUMMARY:Romeo & Juliet
DESCRIPTION:Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare’s most popular romantic tragedy of star-crossed lovers will close Steamer No.10’s 2022-2023 Season. It’s a timeless story of young passions caught between the feuding families of Capulet and Montague – a conflict grown so deadly it throws the city of Verona into turmoil. The danger on the streets is palpable – armed enemies from both sides lurk around corners\, while the Prince threatens death to anyone who is caught up in the clash. When Romeo and his Juliet rise above the old grudges\, their love may heal the deep divisions in Verona\, or bring the whole city crashing down. \nJacqueline Donnaruma directs Romeo and Juliet\, and Eleah Jayne Peal has choreographed the series of duels that leave Verona awash in blood. The show features and Anne Ustin as Juliet and Reid Schiermyer as Romeo. \nOther featured performers include Kassidy Rose as Mercutio\, Caedon Troeger as Tybalt\, Aveline Carrone-Podrid as Benvolio\, Anya Vedhathiri as the Prince\, Jack Shaefer as Friar Lawrence\, Vera Love as the Nurse\, Maya Love as Paris\, Brian McBride Land as Lord Montague\, and Brian Rainey as Lord Capulet. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Typhoid Mary
DESCRIPTION:Next up for our 2023 season is this new script\, particularly apt in the era of Covid. “Typhoid Mary” by Tom Horan Directed by Tony Pallone on March 31-April 2\, 2023.\nMany people have heard of Typhoid Mary\, who was believed to have infected between 51 to 122 people with typhoid fever. Less familiar is Mary Mallon\, born in 1869\, the cook behind the name\, who was a feisty\, vulgar\, yet deeply religious Irish immigrant. This quirky\, anachronistic telling of the discovery of Mary’s peculiar disease as well as her forced quarantine\, unfolds in front of a backdrop of changing notions of medicine\, morality and cleanliness. Did she willfully infect others? Was she a victim of a misguided medical authority? Or is the truth even stranger?
