The Last Dragon
When a Prince and Princess are to be married, the Prince always slays a dragon to save the princess.
It’s Tradition! But this dragon is the last dragon, with no interest in eating Princesses.
And the Princess can handle a sword better than any Prince around.

Aug 5-9
Puss in Boots

The traditional tale of a cat who undertakes the task of remaking his master from peasant to Prince.
Then Puss marries him off to a beautiful Princess, all so Puss will have a pleasant place to live.
But, the journey is where we find the fun and the job of turning a sow’s ear into a silk purse is a monumental one,
even for a cat as talented as Puss.

Aug 12-16
Firebird

Ivan, son of a Tsar, embarks on a quest for the Firebird which has taken Golden Apples from his father’s tree. 
Along the way he encounters numerous obstacles that teach him how to deal with people and other creatures. 
By the conclusion of the tale he has matured from child to adult, come into possession of a Firebird and a magical Horse,
and freed Princess Yelena the Fair, with whom he falls in love.

Aug 19-23
The Odyssey

The Odyssey is a story not only of Odysseus’ journey home from the Trojan War but of his son Telemachus’
path to find out who he truly is. As Odysseus battles raging seas and the sly Circe, Telemachus himself sets sail to find his father.
And on their parallel journeys, Odysseus and Telemachus encounter monsters and seas so treacherous that they are challenged to their limits.

Aug 26-30
A Wrinkle in Time

Meg Murry, an adolescent girl is transported on an adventure through time and space with her younger brother Charles Wallace
and her friend Calvin O’Keefe to rescue her father, a gifted scientist, from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet.
