UPCOMING AT STEAMER 10
Clinton’s Ditch
Book by Ric Chesser | Music by Alan Thompson | Directed by JOE PHILLIPS
Clinton’s Ditch is an hour-long production with music that brings 200 years of Erie Canal history to life. It covers the need for a canal, debate over building it, construction, the Wedding of the Waters opening celebration, and life on the canal. The show explores the waterway that opened the American West to trade and settlement, securing New York City’s position as dominate port-of-entry for the East Coast of the United States and the nation’s financial capital.

Much Ado About Nothing, as you’ve never seen or heard it before!
Set in the early 1940s during wartime, women must take the lead at home with many occupations, including radio broadcast! Keeping the arts alive during trying times, the female cohort steps into Shakespeare’s classic romance-filled romp! Portraying the relationships of two couples: Claudio & Hero and Beatrice & Benedick, the actors navigate a whirlwind of love, deception, and witty banter as many meddlesome matchmakers orchestrate situations to help them overcome their initial reluctance to admit their feelings for each other. In this Shakespearean comedy, the battle of words and wits ensues as a malicious plot leads to accusations, schemes, chaos and heartbreak, before love and truth finally prevail. Audiences additionally get a window into the “behind the scenes” picture of radio, foley sound, doubling, and all the unique features (and challenges) of a live radio play. With a “We Can Do It” mentality, the underrepresented group rises to the task in hilarious and unexpected ways!

A WRINKLE IN TIME
Adapted by Morgan Gould from the novel by Madeleine L’Engle

One of literature’s most enduring young heroines, Meg Murry, is back — glasses, stubbornness and all. She’s joining forces with Mrs Whatsit, Charles Wallace, Calvin O’Keefe and others to battle the forces of evil so she can rescue her father, save humanity, and find herself. In the end, we know two things for sure: 1. Love CAN overcome evil and 2. There IS such a thing as a tesseract.
